By using own1second.com you agree to these terms. They are short, because the product is simple.
For $1 you may claim one second of the calendar year 2026. A claim gives you a permanent public page showing the name, message, and timestamp you chose. A claim is a symbolic dedication — it is not ownership of time itself, a security, an investment, or anything with resale value.
Each second can be claimed exactly once, on a first-come, first-served basis. The moment a payment completes, that second is permanently taken.
Payments are processed by Polar (polar.sh) as merchant of record. All sales are final — time is non-refundable. If a technical error on our side charges you without recording your claim, contact us and we will fix it or refund you.
Names and messages are displayed publicly. Don't submit content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, an impersonation of someone else, spam, or someone else's private information. We may edit or remove content that violates this rule, with a refund at our discretion.
We intend claimed pages to stay up for as long as this site exists. If we ever have to shut down, we will give advance notice and publish a data export of all claims. Beyond that, the service is provided "as is", without warranties, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us.
We may update these terms; the date above will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
